Poached Apple Recipe

 

This is a simple quick recipe for a healthy nutritious desert. Packed with Vitamin C, phytonutrients and antioxidants, its very easy to digest so suitable for during a cleanse or add a little dollop of Mascapone when not cleansing for a treat.

INGREDIENTS

 
  • Apples: 3-4, peeled, cored, and quartered.
  • Cinnamon: 1 stick.
  • Water: 1 1/2 cup.
  • Star Anise
  • Raisins

PREPARATION - Serves 3-4 portions

Add all the ingredients into a saucepan and simmer until the apples are soft.  If you like more sweetness you can add honey but the raisins should add sufficient sweetness.
